Best Jogging Stroller: Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller Review

After reviewing the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller, it amazed me how far technology has advanced from the basic jogging stroller I used. My kids loved to go out running with me and, although I remember it as quality time spent together, to tell you the truth, they quite often fell asleep while we were out running. But, it was still quality time!
If running is your exercise of choice, then consider yourself lucky that you have the option to spend that time with your little ones while, at the same time, demonstrating an active lifestyle and being a positive role model. Children that grow up with parents that are into fitness and health, especially if they can watch as you exercise (read: run) are way more likely to lead a fitness oriented lifestyle themselves. I felt very fortunate be able to bring my kids running with me in their jogging stroller and share that time with them. Plus, they both grew up involved in competitive sports, learning goals, commitments and values.
Okay, on with the review… I have to say that I was just a bit jealous of all the wonderful features that the Overland Limited Jogging Stroller has. I got by fine with my basic jogging stroller, but one can’t help but be wowed by the updated features that are available on this Jeep Jogging Stroller.
The Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller is a true baby jogger designed for dedicated runners. What I mean by that is that the front wheel is fixed which provides better handling while out on a run.
Some jogging strollers have a swivel wheel, which are easier to turn and better for indoor use. However, serious runners definitely prefer the fixed front wheel as it tracks straight ahead instead of turning side to side. The fixed wheel also allows for great performance and stability on uneven surfaces.
It’s important to note that with a fixed wheel, such as the one on the Jeep Overland Jogging Stroller, you need push down on the handle bar to raise the front wheel slightly when you want to turn the stroller.
Some of The Features I Wish I’d Had
Some of the “nice to have” additions to this Jeep jogging stroller are the:

Bonus Features – Everyone Loves Technology
We didn’t even have MP3 players 20 years ago, so we definitely wouldn’t have had or needed the iBaby. But today, who wouldn’t want the iBaby as an added feature. The iBaby is a compartment/sound system that’s located in the parent tray between the cup holders.
While the compartment can be used for items like keys, wallet or cellphone, you can also plug in your portable audio electronics, like an iPod or MP3 Player and you and your little one can listen to your favorite tunes with “Music on the Move“. And, at the same time, you will still being able to hear your child. Note that the iBaby needs 4 ‘AA’ batteries that aren’t included.

What About Safety?
The Jeep Overland comes with an easy hand brake that controls the front-wheel and allows you to slow down or be able to stop on a dime.
As for the rear wheels, they have a foot-activated parking brake is easy to operate and locks out BOTH rear wheels.
The baby jogger also comes with a safety tether that attaches to the runner’s wrist. Plus, the safety tether has reflectors on it so that you will be more visible to traffic and others that you may meet while out on your run.
This Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller has been certified by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA), which means that it meets the safety standards developed by American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). To receive this certification manufacturers agree to have their products tested for brake requirements, stability tests, restraints system integrity and load tests on the stroller seat and footrest.
The Wheels Go Round and Round
The wheels are a 16 inch, air filled, rubber tire. This size of wheel is the best size for most users and can handle dirt paths and light off-road use. If you are a frequent off-road trail runner, you may want to look into a baby jogger with larger wheels. The nice thing about these wheels is that, if you happen to get a flat tire, then you can use a standard bicycle tire repair kit or take the tire into a bike shop to have repaired.
We mentioned above about the differences between the swivel wheel vs. fixed wheel. The Jeep’s fixed wheel system definitely provides better handling while jogging, but if you are looking for a swivel wheel jogger, you might want to look at the Jeep Liberty Sport Urban Terrain Stroller.
What Else Should I Know?
Unlike many jogging strollers, when you are done exercising, the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller folds easily with easy-to-use clasps and remains upright after folding using the free-stand design.
